On the 26th of March 2020, the Thai Prime Minister imposed a state of Emergency Decree regarding the Coronavirus outbreak in Thailand.
Tree Tops Elephant Reserve in Phuket made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily close until further notice.
Along with myself, Tree Tops CEO, Mr Wallop P. Luengdhama, and Operations Director, Russell Withers, we opened Tree Tops in October 2019. As Project Director, I oversee the care and welfare of our seven gorgeous elephants - Fah Sai, Nam Gaew, Nam Sook, Lam Poon, Tong Tip, Boon Song and Nam Phet, whom all live a beautiful, peaceful life on the reserve.
At this time, however, we are very worried about the coming months as financially we rely solely on tourism to feed our elephants.
To help with funding, EARS Asia will be receiving donations to directly support the purchase of pineapple grass, bananas and watermelon treats, supplementary food for our 70 year old elephant Nam Sook, and any vet care that the elephants may need.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for being so kind to help the elephants at this very difficult time.
My thoughts are with you all.
